Hi All

How do you make your Dolby Atmos DCPs?

I have been researching for a few weeks now cause I need to make one soon and I really struggle with understanding the sound part.

I normally use DCPoMatic or EasyDCP, not sure which one is best for this.

My main doubt at the moment is that I have received the theatrical dolby atmos mxf with beeps and a TC mistake. Is there any way to modify it or does it have to be exported again?

Both DCP-o-matic and EasyDCP can make Dolby Atmos DCPs. It is much easer when all assets of the same duration but you can definitely trim Atmos in DCP-o-matic. And it seems TC doesn't matter at all. You need to use SMPTE with 16 channels of audio DCP template.
 
You need to use the latest SMPTE spec, RDD or something like that. You also have to include non ATMOS 5.1 as a fallback. I'm just figuring out how to do it. I made one earlier this year and it was good. Then I had to adjust something, wrapped another one and it failed QC for being out of sync. This us EasyDCP standalone. I can't play the ATMOS DCP audio in Resolve. That makes it difficult.
 
Yes, I suspected that. The problem is that the machine running the DCP software has no video/audio IO. The way all that is wired I can;t get audio from that machine, We normally instead QC DCPs in Resolve so we can project them.
