GP-Tune Transform & IDTs for GoPro

I'd like to announce the release of the GP-Tune Transform for DaVinci Resolve.

This Transform bundle consists of a DCTL with customizable parameters and also includes 24 ACES IDTs for GoPro HERO5 all the way up to HERO12 with support for Protune Flat, GP-Log as well as GoPro Labs custom LogB parameters. The bundle has accurately calculated NATIVE color matrices for each supported GoPro model and also includes GoPro Labs WIDE color transforms. In addition, there are also Daylight and Tungsten lighting presets as well (including for IDTs).

If you have a tool that can make GP look anything like a pro camera you deserve an Academy Award! Thankfully the client that used them has gone elsewhere for grading but I still have nightmares about trying to match them to "real" cameras.

Here is a match using LOGB=400 and matching it to my Lumix S1H. It's actually really easy, but it requires a good bit of knowledge on what settings to use. Check 03:37 for results.

The newer cameras are helped by the H.265 encoding and the addition of 10-bit as well. It really boils down to understanding the limitations of a smaller sensor and working within the boundaries of those known limitations. The GoPro Labs firmware also makes a lot more advanced features available.

I imagine, I was working with first gen GP which was very different....

This producer was completely budget driven and "cheap" was the only understanding they had.... Even the DP would send notes apologizing and saying it was going to be tough... Thankfully someone else deals with it now.
 
V2 of the GP-Tune Transform has now been released!

This release includes GP-Log updates, WIDE tweaks and the addition of the GP-Tune+ Transform with Custom WRGB parameters, highlight rolloff and a range of other enhanced features. This release introduces 2x Custom ACES IDTs with user configurable parameters.

The latest update for the Transform and OFX Plugin has now been released with support for GP-Log2 and MISSION 1 Native sensor profiles.

This update also sets the Exposure Adjustment value to +1.67 EV (+1 ⅔) to align with the exposure bias baked into GoPro cameras.
