Recovering Saved Drafts

I have noticed that when composing a message this program appears to periodically save drafts of messages.

I just spent an hour composing a post which was the culmination of several months' work on x264 videos. I then accidentally closed the browser tab containing the post I was composing.

Is there a way to recover the saved draft? I can't find a way to do this if such is possible, and searches of "draft" and "drafts" turn up nothing. The "help" page did not offer a solution.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. The forum saves your writing periodically as you compose a message. Saved drafts are "persistent" in the text box for the thread you composed your message for, i.e. it's automatic and there is nothing you need to do. If your draft is saved correctly, your previously composed text will re-appear automatically in the message box for that thread upon your return.

If this didn't happen, then my guess is either the draft didn't have a chance to save, something happened with the cookie in your browser the forum uses to identify you, or the text composition was reset somehow.
 
My only suggestion for Lesiie is if you're composing a message this complex and lengthy, do it in a text editor outside your browser and save often. I don't do that frequently enough, but I always try to go to TextEdit or Wordpad or whatever's in your operating system of choice and do the writing there. And spellcheck it before cutting-and-pasting and posting it.

That's another possible route. We've all been there: in the middle of a 20-minute dissertation on something of cosmic importance, and then <BAM>, all of it goes away and could not be saved. Awful and rotten when that happens. And when you rewrite, it's never quite the same the second time.
